You already know the cycle: a strong hire burns out within a year. A supervisor means well but reacts under pressure instead of leading through it. Staff meetings surface the same conflicts again and again because no one has a shared framework for working through them.
Turnover is expensive. Inconsistent leadership is expensive. And most professional development options give your team information — theory, checklists, workshop-day energy that fades by the following Monday — without giving them a practice they can actually use when a family is upset, a classroom is chaotic, or a staff member is at their limit.
Harmony Based Leadership was built for needs like yours — where the people leading children get the training they need for themselves and those they serve.
A Little Harmony is led by Susan Jones, LPCC-S, NCC — a licensed clinical counselor with over 25 years in early childhood development, complex developmental trauma, and attachment-based practice. She holds the rare dual distinction of TBRI Practitioner and Educator certification, trained directly under Dr. Karyn Purvis, and is a Certified Enneagram Practitioner. She's the author of The Wholehearted Child and has worked directly inside Head Start leadership as a mental health consultant and supervisor trainer.
This framework was built and tested in programs that look like yours.
This isn't a one-day workshop with a binder that gets shelved. It's a full leadership framework, with a protocol your supervisors can use in real moments. Susan has spent her career translating clinical depth into tools educators and clinicians can actually use.
What Your Team Learns...
Harmony Based Leadership gives your supervisors and staff:
A shared framework for recognizing what's underneath reactive behavior — in themselves and their teams — without labeling or pathologizing
The 5Rs Protocol — a concrete, repeatable process for moving any staff member (or family) from reaction to regulation to resolution
Language for the three stress patterns (fear, shame, anger) that drive most workplace conflict — so supervisors can respond with clarity instead of getting pulled into the reaction
A self-care and leadership blueprint each participant builds for themselves, so the framework isn't just something they teach — it's something they live
A leader competency checklist your program can use to track growth and consistency across your leadership team
Every engagement is built around your program's size and needs. Two common paths:
Team Training A cohort-based training for your supervisors or full staff — self-paced core material plus live sessions with Susan, built around your program's schedule.
Ongoing Consulting Partnership For programs wanting sustained support, not a single training event — regular consulting sessions that help embed the framework into daily supervision, staff meetings, and how your program handles hard conversations. (This is the model currently in place with JFCAC Head Start.)
