I created A Little Harmony™ because regulation, connection, and felt safety aren't extras.

They're everything. And they begin with the adult in the room.

A Note from Susan...

I work with children, families, and helping professionals — and I notice the same pattern again and again.

People care deeply. They know what matters. They want to respond with patience, clarity, and connection. And yet, under stress, those skills disappear.

What I see isn't a lack of love, insight, or effort — it's nervous systems under pressure.

I hold a deep conviction: we are asking children to navigate stress, change, and emotion without ever teaching them how — and then wondering why they disconnect from themselves when things get hard. Too often, children learn that survival means adapting, pleasing, or pushing through, rather than staying connected to who they truly are.

Lasting change doesn't come from trying harder or managing behavior better. It comes from understanding how stress lives in the body, heart, and mind — and learning how to stay connected to ourselves even in moments of pressure.

A Little Harmony was built on this belief.

Through this framework, children are equipped with the language, awareness, and tools to recognize what's happening inside them — before stress becomes overwhelming, before coping turns into self-abandonment, and before disconnection becomes a way of life. This is proactive work. Front-loading children with these skills protects their sense of identity, connection, and worth from the inside out.

But children cannot do this alone. They need the adults around them to be steady, present, and equipped. A Little Harmony prepares the caregivers, educators, and professionals in a child's life to become exactly that — so children no longer have to carry what was never theirs to hold.

This work is personal to me, professional in its grounding, and generational in its hope.

For over two decades, Susan has worked alongside children, families, and helping professionals — and built the Rooted Enneagram Method from that work.

Her approach weaves together the Enneagram, nervous system awareness, and attachment-informed practice into something both clinically grounded and deeply human. She lives in Shelbyville, Kentucky — the heart of horse country — where she keeps a private practice with her husband, Drew.

They are the proud parents of seven grown children.

When she can get away, she heads to the Pacific Northwest, where the mountains and coastline have a way of putting everything back in perspective.

Why A Little Harmony?

I Built This For:

  • The Teacher who chose this work on purpose and is running on empty anyway

  • The Counselor who can name every theory and still feels overwhelmed in the work

  • The Administrator who knows the most important social emotional learning comes from the regulated teacher in the room

I built A Little Harmony because I kept looking for something I couldn't find — a framework that didn't just explain why children struggle, but actually gave the adults who love them a way to help them find their way back to themselves.

I wanted something that started with the adult. Because you can't lead down a path you haven't traveled. Before we can help a child regulate, we have to understand what regulation actually feels like in our own bodies — our own patterns, our own places where stress quietly takes hold. A grounded adult doesn't happen by accident. And that grounded adult makes all the difference.

I built it because the story we carry begins in childhood.

You're in the Right Place

Whether you're here because you want to show up differently for the children in your care, or because you want to be trained to equip others to do the same — you're in the right place.

The work starts with the adult. And that adult is you.
